With just a big fat super ripe banana, a few scoops of whey protein and milk, I worked out my Bottoms-Up-Whey-Banana-Punch. My friends call it cheating. They suspect I add other ‘secret’ sacrilegious ingredients (read, dollops of ice cream, chocolate etc.). I chuckle.
Considering the title, this is going to be an unusual post. I hate beer! Yeah, that's right. But I am not gonna rant about how passionately I hate it. Nope. Not here.
Let me just explain and keep it simple. This post is about my favorite post-workout drink: Whey Banana Punch. I'd always wondered why foods and drinks traditionally considered healthy need be so disinclined to pamper the tastebud. It's plain unfair. So instead of taking my regular scoop of whey, I thought of spicing things up a bit. And, whoa! With just a big fat superripe banana, a few scoops of whey-protein and milk, I worked out my Bottoms-Up-Whey-Banana-Punch. My friends call it cheating. They suspect I add other 'secret' sacrilegious ingredients (read, dollops of ice cream, chocolate etc.). I chuckle. Their suspicion grows stronger. I sit back and enjoy my drink. Life's good for the gym-going foodie
Here's the recipe. There's nothing 'tween the lines. I promise.
Mash a large overripe banana. Pulse with 250 ml skimmed milk (cold) and whey protein (one or two scoops) for about 30 seconds. Add a dash of freshly-ground cinnamon and drink up all that goodness!
